AI Insight and Dashboard Chat
Dashboard Chat uses the selected ETL and open dashboard context to answer with text or tables, generate a single chart or Dynamic Dashboard, and change the selected widget, page, Pivot, interaction or theme in edit mode.
What this feature delivers
The same chat panel acts as an analysis assistant in view mode and a controlled dashboard operation surface in edit mode. Playground supports temporary file trials while chart requests continue through the structured metric-spec pipeline.
Text, table and chart answers
Questions about the selected ETL or dashboard context can return an explanation, compact table or savable chart.
AI dashboard editing
Move, resize, change or duplicate a selected widget and apply page, Pivot, filter, interaction or theme operations to the edit draft.
Playground and Dynamic Dashboards
Use Playground for temporary file analysis or start a new multi-widget dashboard from the same conversational experience.
Use case
These steps show the need this feature solves for a real team and how it moves analysis closer to action.
Set the context
Select the ETL; for dashboard changes, open edit mode and make the target widget or page explicit.
Describe the request
Ask for text analysis, a chart or a precise dashboard change together with settings that must be preserved.
Validate and save
Review the metric, aggregation, target widget, layout and interaction effects before saving the dashboard.
AI suggestions become validated dashboard operations
Column, ETL, page and widget targets are validated; ambiguous requests trigger clarification instead of an arbitrary action, and chart changes keep metric_spec as their source of truth.
Who is this feature for?
Business users can ask data questions, analysts can refine charts and Pivots, and dashboard owners can apply controlled draft changes in natural language.
Does it work with other LivChart workflows?
Yes. Dashboard view/edit mode, Dynamic Dashboards, Playground and the single-chart pipeline share context and validation contracts.
